The Double Eccentric (Double Offset) geometry is engineered to solve the primary weakness of standard butterfly valves: seat wear.
- First Offset: The shaft is located behind the sealing surface.
- Second Offset: The shaft is located slightly to one side of the pipe's vertical centerline.
Why it Matters: The "Camming" Action
This design allows the disc to "cam" into the seat. Upon opening, the disc lifts immediately away from the PTFE seat rather than rubbing against it. This frictionless operation significantly reduces torque and extends the service life of the FEP/PFA sleeve, even during frequent ON/OFF cycles.
